Liz Truss Sets Out Her Vision for Post-Brexit Britain

Foreign Secretary Announces Reset in Relations with the EU

Truss: 'Time to Move On' from Brexit Referendum

Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has outlined her vision for post-Brexit Britain, saying it is time to "move on" from the referendum that divided the country.

In a speech to the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, Truss said that the UK must now focus on building a "global Britain" that is open to trade and investment from around the world.

"We must now look forward, not backward," she said. "The referendum was a divisive moment in our history, but it is time to put that behind us and come together as a country.

"We must now focus on building a global Britain that is open to trade and investment from around the world. We must be a country that is outward-looking and confident in our place in the world."

Truss's speech was welcomed by some business leaders, who said that it provided much-needed clarity about the UK's future outside the EU.

"This speech is a welcome step forward," said Carolyn Fairbairn, director general of the Confederation of British Industry. "It provides much-needed clarity about the UK's future outside the EU and will help businesses plan for the future."

However, some pro-Brexit campaigners criticized Truss's speech, saying that she was not doing enough to deliver on the promises made during the referendum campaign.

"This speech is a betrayal of the promises we were made during the referendum campaign," said Nigel Farage, former leader of the UK Independence Party.

"Truss is simply trying to appease the Remainers and is not taking the concerns of Leave voters seriously."
